Saturday, September 15, 2007; 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. (NO Rain Date)
Where:
Downtown Christiansburg, Virginia; Exit 114 off of Interstate 81.
Category
Definitions:
-
Hand-Made
Arts & Crafts: 100% handmade items only.
-
Manufactured
Crafts: Any Items that was not entirely handmade by an individual,
store brought items, or resale items.
-
Business
Displays: A business other than handmade arts and crafts businesses,
such as but not limited to: service or retail
businesses.
-
Non-Profit
Displays: A business or organization that wants to participate by
spreading knowledge or offering a service and not for selling any
items.
-
Food
Vendor: Any vendor looking to sell edible items which will be cooked
to order on site with inspection from the Virginia Department of
Health. This also
includes any vendor looking to sell snack or prepared items.

$25 fee will be charged for any returned check
Cancellation:
Wilderness
Trail Festival will consider any cancellation on an individual
basis. Refunds are not, however, guaranteed.
Confirmation:
Applicants
are not considered registered until the Application Fee is
received in full by the Festival
Coordinator. A confirmation letter and further information about the
Wilderness Trail Festival will
be mailed to you around September 1st. Until then, your CANCELLED
CHECK will serve as confirmation
of your booth reservation.
Space
Guarantees:
We
cannot guarantee requests for a particular area or space; however, we
will do our best to meet requests received before June 30th.
Rain
& Wind Policy:
There
will be NO REFUNDS for rain or wind. A great deal of time and
expense is put into the Wilderness Trail Festival over the course of a
year therefore it is our policy not to cancel for bad weather.
Many shows will run well even with rain or wind. Vendors are
responsible for providing their own protection from inclement weather.
A one hour wait period will occur before calling the status of
the festival. After that period, if the festival is cancelled, a staff
person will notify participants. Only
then will vehicles be allowed back onto the festival street.
Health
Department Regulations:
The
Wilderness Trail Festival Committee will mail a Food Vendor Packet
August 1st, which will include the application for the
Temporary Event Food Facilities permit. The application must be
completed and submitted to the MCCC; 103 Professional Park Drive,
Blacksburg,
VA 24060: with a check payable to: Montgomery County Health Dept. no
later than August 20th.
If your application is not received by the Chamber at that time,
you will not be allowed to set up at the festival and your space fee
will NOT be refunded. The
Wilderness Trail Festival Committee and the Chamber are not responsible
if the Health Dept closes your booth and your space fee will NOT be
refunded.
Food
Item Selection:
The
Wilderness Trail Festival Committee and the Chamber reserve the right to
limit certain food item selections. You MUST list every item you would
like to serve. You will be contacted only if an item is over the limit
and cannot be served.
Beverage
Selection:
The
Wilderness Trail Festival Committee and the Chamber have exclusive
rights to sell carbonated beverages and water. Food Vendors will be
permitted to sell non-carbonated Fruit Drinks and Tea.
Virginia
Department of Taxation:
All
vendors must contact David Trott at (540) 394-2597, P.O. Box 476,
Christiansburg, VA 24068 immediately following the festival for sales
tax information.
Arrival
and Departure Guidelines:
-
Participates
arriving after 9:00 a.m. will be turned away without refund.
-
All
exhibitors are required to remain at the show until closing. We have
advertised the specific hours of the festival, and it would not be
professional or fair to patrons to start to breakdown before the
specific closing time.

Failure
to appear or early withdrawal from the festival will jeopardize
participation in future shows.
Traffic
Control Plan
To
avoid as much traffic congestion as possible, we respectfully request
vendors comply with this set up plan.
The plan is as follows:

Locate
your space

your wares. Help may be available

your vehicle as soon as possible to a designated vendor parking area

Set
up your display

Place
any trash in the middle of the street by 8:30 a.m. for pick-up.
Do not use
trash barrels.

Miscellaneous
Guidelines:
-
Ice,
water, electricity, power cords, VDH regulated dump areas, and trash
cans will NOT be
provided.
-
Vendors
are responsible for providing their own trash receptacles/bags.
There will be 3 dumpsters located on the festival layout for
vendors to dispose of their trash.
-
A
fire extinguisher must be in any booth where food is cooked, candles
are lit, or if there is any burning or smoking items.
-
Locations
and street layout are subject to change.
-
A
professional attitude and consideration for co-exhibitors is expected
at all times. Failure to cooperate with the Wilderness Trail Festival
Staff may result in removal from the show without refund.

Exhibitor
shall be liable for delivery, handling, erection and removal of their
own display and materials.
-
You
will only be allowed to set up in the amount of space you have paid
for. Going beyond your paid space will result in an immediate
additional space fee.
-
A
blanket business license will has been purchased especially for the
Wilderness Trail Festival but the Montgomery County Chamber of
Commerce. You are not required to purchase one.

If
your display includes a raffle, you must obtain a Raffle Permit from
the Charitable Gaming Commission at P.O. Box 756, Richmond, VA 23218.

items at selected locations, (2) limit certain food items, and (3)
deny anyone display privileges at the festival.
